
Te Kākano is a cultural initiative of the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute - Te Puia, to carve a 10 metre waka maumahara
(canoe cenotaph) as a gift from the people of New Zealand to the people of China. The carving will be completed at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
