Mauriora Kingi is the Director of Kaupapa Māori at the Rotorua District Council and a graduate carver of the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute. He has held many advisory roles within government agencies and Parliamentary Services, advising Ministers and dignitaries on matters relating to tikanga Māori (Māori protocols).

Mauriora will provide tikanga expertise to this project alongside his knowledge of protocols associated with the carving practice. He will travel with Hekenukumai and Te Puia to Shanghai for the gifting ceremony on the 9th of July. Tohunga Maori bowl used in Maori Blessing / Welcome Ceremonies
